No! Pro-Coat Interior AntiViral+ was developed as a “green” solution to antiviral coatings. Our product is a zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint with a low odour.
We always recommend a primer when painting new walls. Priming previously painted walls is not always necessary, but keep in mind if you have areas that have been repaired or the wall has previously been covered in wallpaper, you should definitely plan on using a primer before painting.
Our paint is self-priming so if it’s a previously-painted surface, you won’t need to prime it most likely. However, depending on the surface, you might need to do a coat or two beforehand for the best finish.
We recommend using our primer if you are painting over new drywall, surfaces that have damage or dramatically darker feature walls to ensure that you get that finish you were looking for.

It will be effective within 6-8 hours of application. When viruses, bacteria and germs come in contact with painted surfaces, the Silver-ions break open the cell membrane of the microbe. The Silver-ions attach to metabolic enzymes, suffocating the cell, which then leads to binding to its DNA strands and stops the replication process. It is 99.9% effective against tested viruses and bacteria.

Exterior paint is made so that is durable against harsher conditions such as changing temperatures, humidity and direct sunlight. The exterior paint is the same as our interior paint however with added characteristics to withstand these harsher conditions.
